Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation*

If you read my Sparkling Soiree post you would have seen I got the Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation* in my goodie bag and I have been using it since then.
Bobbi Brown - "This creamy, cashmere-like powder delivers a buffed, polished finish and lasting wear in a convenient compact. Available in 20 true-to-skin shades. Anyone with normal to oily skin types who want a powder foundation with adjustable, natural-looking coverage. Inspired by the look and feel of gorgeous skin, this oil-free powder has a soft, creamy texture that feels smooth and comfortable. It blends evenly and seamlessly onto skin and conceals imperfections, fine lines and pores for a finish that stays fresh and keeps skin shin-free through heat and humidity. For medium to full coverage: Apply with a puff or dry sponge (included in compact). For sheer coverage: Dust on with a powder brush."

This powder foundation comes in a whopping 20 shades so you should be able to find a good match for your skin tone. It retails for $68 and you get 11gms of product. I like using a powder foundation on lazy days when I don't want to spend a lot of time on my makeup but still want some coverage on my acne spots and a matte face. I have the colour Honey which is a touch darker on me but this shade will be perfect for me in the summer. SW is a finely milled soft pressed powder that goes on very smoothly on the skin. I like using a kabuki brush to press the powder into my skin. I find that it lasts about 5 hours after which I have to reapply on my T-Zone. It doesn't make me look super shiny but I still find a little glow coming through. I like how it covers most of my acne scarring and looks quite natural on me.

Minimal makeup with just lipstick, mascara and the SW Powder.

Sometimes if I need really full coverage, I would use this powder over my foundation and I find it makes my foundation last a lot longer. This powder foundation is very similar to MAC's Studio Fix powder foundation but a tiny bit more finely milled. I do find the cost, shade range and amount of product of MAC is much better. When I use my studio fix I find my face looks like I have powder on (also oxidizes on my skin), but with Skin Weightless it feels very natural. I do prefer Skin Weightless but it is quite expensive so I am not sure if I will repurchase it once I run out.

I would highly recommend you to try it out when your at a Bobbi Brown counter next time.

Have you tried any products from Bobbi Brown?

Essence Be Loud Collection

Hey guys,

Today I bring to you new products from Essence that have recently been released at Target stores across Australia. The Be Loud collection has blushes, eyeshadows, jumbo lip pencils, nail polishes and eye liners.

I picked up the blushes in Pink Me and Ap-ri(C)ot and the Jumbo lip pencil in Pink me.

The blushes look like baked blushes (Think Hourglass ambient blushes) with different colour veinings, but they are not baked. Pink me has red, candy pink and baby pink veining. Ap-ri(c)ot has orange, peach and coral veining. Both the blushes have very good pigmentation and a little goes a long way. The application was a little patchy but with a little blending it looked seamless. They did stay on for about 6 hours after which they faded.
L-R Blush in Pink Me, Apricot and Lip pencil in Pink Me

The Pink Me jumbo pencil is a glossy, sheer lip pencil. The colour can be built up and is very comfortable on the lips. It doesn't last very long though, probably an hour or two if you don't eat or drink anything. It doesn't stain the lips either so reapplying throughout the day is necessary.

Overall not a very exciting collection but I am quite happy with the products I got. If you would like to purchase these products they are still available at most Target stores.

Did you pick up anything from the Be Loud collection?

MAC Lipstick collection (Permanent colours)

Hey guys,

Today I am going to share with you my MAC lipstick collection from the permanent range. I do have a few limited edition lipsticks but I wanted to share with you the ones you can get hold of now.
I have been collecting MAC lipsticks for the past 3 years now and have gone through quite a few colours and have repurchased them. MAC have a wide variety of lipstick shades and finishes and sometimes its easy to get really overwhelmed by them. My favourite finish from MAC has to be Satin and Amplified, although I do have, almost one of each finish in my collection (including limited edition shades). The only finish I don't have are Glaze and Frost which I am not very keen on anyways.

I do have an extra swatch of the Cosmo lipstick on here because I just got it recently in a Back to MAC program.
Lets start with Dare You (Cremesheen) and MAC describes it as a deep brown red which is exactly how I would describe it too. It is a very warm red with brown undertones and would flatter medium to dark skin tones. I don't wear many reds so thats why I own only one Red lipstick from MAC.
Twig (Satin) is a soft muted brownish-pink again very apt. This colour is a MLBB shade for Indian skintones and darker. I love using this as an everyday shade.

Lovelorn (Lustre) is a Emotive Blue Pink, it is a very light blue based pink which is great on light to light medium skin. On me it does wash me out but since its a lustre finish, I can still get away wearing it. Lovelorn was my very first MAC lipstick I bought. Creme in your coffee (Cremesheen) is a creamy mid-tone pink brown. This colour is very similar to Twig but with a hint more brown and with a creamier glossy finish. This is my most used colour and this is the second tube I have bought of this colour, which again I am almost finishing up.

Captive (Satin) is a pinkish plum colour and is  great for the autumn and winter months. Since it is a satin finish, it is quite true to colour and with one swipe you get the most beautiful berry coloured lips. Taupe (Matte) is a muted reddish-taupe brown, again this colour is something I would reach for everyday, it is quite a darker brown nude on me but since it is a matte formula it stays on for a longer period of time on the lips and is not drying at all.

Del Rio(Satin) is a muted plum-brown shade, this colour is very similar to Captive but just more darker and more plummy. I haven't used this shade at all because I didn't know it was in my stash for a very long time. Hopefully I will get some use out of this colour now if not, in the next winter months.
Lastly Cosmo (Amplified Creme) is describes as a Pink coco. I recently got this lipstick by returning 6 empty MAC products and it is fairly new. I have used this maybe twice and I am falling in love with it. This colour is the perfect nude pink for my skin tone and I think I may be loving it a little more than my Creme in your coffee.

Lust Have It FAB Box August 2014

Hey guys,
I recieved the August Lust Have it FAB box a few days ago and I want to share with you the contents of this box.
For those who don't know what the FAB box is, It is a monthly subscription service by Lust Have it which contains 4-5 Fashion and Beauty items each month. This box is a little more expensive than the Lust Have it Beauty box and retails for $35. I joined this service because I was quite impressed with the contents last month and I thought it was totally worth the $35 you spend each month.

In this month's box we got the products in a pink mesh bag, which I really like because its a fine mesh and can be used for so many things. The products included three Butter London nail polishes in Lovely Jublee, which is a purple glitter nail polish with pink, red and blue glitter in it; British Racing Green which is a metallic dark forest green and Crumpet which is a nude skintone beige colour. Although I really like the colours I am not a nail polish person and don't wear it at all. I would have been happier if they had included atleast one makeup item instead of three nail polishes. Nonetheless, Butter London is a very good brand for nail polishes and they are quite expensive too. Here they say it retails for $22 each but when I checked online on Adore Beauty, I found these three colours were on sale for $19.95 each, which is still quite expensive for one nail polish.
There were also some vouchers included this month, but I don't use them so they went straight in the bin.

This box also came with two beautiful jewelry peices which I am totally in love with. I have nothing like these in my collection and they are great for the spring and summer. The quality of the jewelery is quite nice and heavy and definitely don't feel cheap. I don't think they are worth the price it says on the card, like you could get stuff like this from Colette and Lovisa for around $12-$20, but nonetheless they are still very pretty and I love them.

Overall I am quite impressed although I would have loved atleast one makeup item instead of so many nail polishes. Still this box was worth well more than $35 and I can't wait for the next box to come out.

Have you subscribed to any Fashion and Beauty Boxes? Do you think they are worth it?

My Winter Morning Skincare Routine

Hey guys,
Winter is almost over but I wanted to share with you my morning skincare routine that helped me beat the cold dry weather. Although we are now headed into spring I think I can continue this routine till we hit summer, where I might have to switch up a product or two.

Anyways as for now, I have been cleansing my face and applying a thin layer of Indeed Hydraluron- Everyone in the beauty community knows about this revolutionary product. I first thought it was a gimmic and went off it for a month. Thats when I noticed it did make a difference to my skin. My skin felt and looked more supple when I used this product. So I am back to it now and its here to stay. I already have a back up incase I run out of it.

While the Hydraluron dries I apply my favourite lip balm at the moment- Chapstick Cake Batter on my lips and also the Origins Super Spot Remover on any inflammed or obvious acne. I know this spot treatment is to be done on clean skin but I find this way it works better for me. While that dries I go onto my eyes and apply my Boots Serum 7 Anti Wrinkle Eyecream. I haven't noticed any anti-wrinkling happening under my eyes but this stuff helps keep my undereyes hydrated and also helps the concealer to not crease.

Lastly I moisturize my face and neck with the L'oreal Youth Code Luminosity Moisturiser. This moisturiser has a nice sheen ( not exactly shimmer but very fine micro shimmers) in it and helps my skin look radiant. Even though I have oily combination skin, anything that helps my skin look glowy during the dry winter months are my best friends.

Do you change your skin care products depending on the season?
